AVAILABLE NOW – Cacao Butter Chunks (Cacao not Cocoa)
Made from the pure oil of the cacao bean, cacao butter is what white chocolate is made of. This vegan product contains no chemicals , hexane or solvents. With the aroma of dark chocolate it is made by cold pressing the raw cacao beans while preserving the rich nutrients. It’s a very good source of vitamin E, healthy saturated fat and contains NO sugar or salt. It is also naturally high in antioxidants and can be used for both cooking and as a natural moisturiser. Can be added to your desserts, ice cream and smoothies. It easily melts at 35 degrees allowing it to blend nicely into any type of recipe. Mix with agave (coming soon), coconut oil and cacao powder for a great dessert. You can also use it as a skin moisturiser and lip balm. Great substitute for butter in vegan recipes.
CACAO vs COCOA
Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans. This process keeps the enzymes in the cocoa and removes the fat (cacao butter). Cocoa looks the same but it’s not. Cocoa is raw cacao that’s been roasted at high temperatures. Sadly, roasting changes the molecular structure of the cocoa bean, reducing the enzyme content and lowering the overall nutritional value.
